Thank The Maker brings 17 Rogue One and Andor crew to St Swithun's School, Winchester, on 17 October. Run from Fordingbridge; tickets £35 with parking.
A Fordingbridge toy shop is bringing 17 people who made Rogue One and Andor to Winchester for a day of talks on Saturday 17 October.
Thank The Maker runs from 9.30am to 6pm in The Harvey Hall at St Swithun’s School, about 17 miles north-east of Lyndhurst. It marks ten years since Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The organiser is All The Cool Stuff, an independent toy retailer and event organiser based in Fordingbridge.
The guests are not the actors. They are the crew: the people who drew the storyboards, painted the blasters, dressed the sets and built the visual effects. Across the day they will give presentations, sit on panels and take questions from the audience.

Why behind the camera
Event organiser David Tree said the point has always been the crew.
“Thank The Maker has always been about shining a light on the people behind the camera: the artists, designers, craftspeople and technicians whose work is absolutely essential to bringing these incredible worlds to life,” he said.
“For the 10th anniversary of Rogue One, we wanted to create something really special, and bringing together 17 people from such a diverse range of departments gives our audience an extraordinary opportunity to understand how a film like this is actually made.
“There are so many different skills involved in filmmaking that audiences never get to see. You might watch a finished scene and never realise how much work went into a prop, a piece of graphics, a storyboard, a visual effect or a set before the camera even rolled.
“That is what makes Thank The Maker different. It is a chance to hear those stories directly from the people who were there.”
The ticket page puts it more bluntly: this is “not a traditional comic con or celebrity meet-and-greet”.
Not only for Star Wars fans
The organisers say the day is meant to reach beyond the Star Wars crowd. They particularly want film students, aspiring filmmakers, artists, designers and anyone curious about the creative industries.
Earlier Thank The Maker events looked at the making of Andor and The Force Awakens. All The Cool Stuff says those events also raised money for Moyles Court Wildlife Rescue.
The event is fan-organised. Its website says it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Lucasfilm or Disney.
